Manager states 'lack of commitmen by some players' as reason
Potton United Football Club boss Dean Chapman has announced his resignation after just one season in charge at The Hollow.
Mr Chapman will remain in charge until the end of the current campaign having endured a difficult first season in management in which Potton have finished just one place above the relegation zone.
However he has seen much better displays in cup matches and has led United to four semi-finals, of which two are still to be played.
His season got off to a difficult start when co-manager Jim Benton stepped down before the league season even got underway and has cited his main reason for leaving the job as 'a lack of commitment from some of the players'.
Club secretary Bev Strong said: "Dean has put in a lot of hard work and it's a shame he hasn't been able get respect and commitment from some of the players."
The search is now on for a new manager and all interested parties can call Bev on 07703 442565 or email bev.strong@tiscali.co.uk
