Victoria races to Olympic victory in the Women's Sprint in Beijing in style this lunchtime
The cyclist from Stotfold punched the air in delight as she raced clear of Anna Meares in the second race of the final on Tuesday.
After grabbing a Union flag she took the applause from ecstatic crowds inside the velodrome.
A clear victory never looked in doubt as Victoria hit the front and her Australian rival simply didn't have an answer.
In the first race she kept in front of her opponent who was unable to claw back any time on her and Victoria crossed the line comfortably first.
That meant there was no need for a decider - Victoria had won gold!
It completed a perfect tournament for Victoria who won every single race right the way through and had qualified in a new record time.
