Gold medal cyclist Victoria spoke of her joy after winning gold in the Women's Sprint at Beijing today
Speaking to the BBC just after winning the gold medal Victoria of Stotfold said: "I can't believe everything just went to plan and after the success of the team I was thinking is it too much to ask that I get one as well?

"It's a dream scenario.I feel part of the team - you have to get a medal these days."

The track queen, who was on the verge of quitting cycling following a disappointing Olympics in Athens four years ago, was full of praise for her psychologist Steve Peters.

She said: "I couldn't have done it without him.

"I feel like a different athlete and I'm enjoying it a lot more and I'm just so lucky to have people around me who have helped me improve and make the changes that have made me the athlete I am right now."

Victoria beat Anna Meares in the final to win the gold medal.
