Three pre-season wins out of four for Nick Burton's United
Having drawn 3-3 with SSML Division Two side Caddington on Thursday, Biggleswade United entertained Crawley Green in their penultimate pre-season friendly on Saturday and secured their third win from four with a 3-1 success again the SSML Division One side.
United dominated for much of the game and Luke Lincoln gave the hosts a lead on 34 minutes, tapping in a free kick from Andre Maltay and the hosts were rarely troubled as they played out the half.
Luke's brother Kyle Lincoln made it 2-0 just minutes after the restart, heading home a pin-point cross from Ross Kane.
And 13 minutes later a wonder goal from Maltay, fired in to the top corner from a 25 yard free kick, extended the lead beyond the Luton side's reach. With ten minutes remaining, Crawley Green were awarded a penalty when United's goalkeeper Adam Lawrence was adjudged to have tripped their striker, and the victim scored from the spot to reduce the deficit.
Tomorrow United kick open their league campaign with the visit of North London side, London Kingsbury Tigers for a 3pm start.
With admission the cheapest in the area at £4 for adults (£2 for concessions), on Tuesday night United make the short trip to Forde Park for a derby with Langford.
