Biggleswade school wins Kwik Cricket crown
It was fun all the way at Blunham Playing Field on Wednesday morning when pupils from several Bedfordshire lower schools were involved in the Asda Kwik Cricket County finals.

Junior kwik cricket is designed to bring the sport to the county's Year 3 and 4 pupils and was sponsored by Biggleswade's Asda superstore.

And the competition, which has been played on a knockout basis across the Bedfordshire fdor the past few weeks, was won by Biggleswade's Southlands Lower School who claimed the County Kwik Cricket Championship crown after beating another lower school from Leighton Buzzard in the final.

Bedfordshire's Cricket Development Officer, David Mercer, said: "The kids loved it. It was great to see them enjoying the game and I suppose it was even better for Biggleswade as one of its schools won the Kwik Cricket title."

Mr Mercer wished thanked Asda for sponsoring the competition and Blunham for hosting it.
