Clive Milton takes a look at the best of Sunday's action in the Michael R Peters Sunday League
The result of the day in the Premier Division was Esquires' collection of their first points of the season.
Not only did they get their first points but they got their first win, against a Supreme side who have yet to find consistent form.
The score was 3-2 on Supreme's turf. Leaders Sandy Sunday maintained their one point gap at the top with a solid 3-1 win at Bird in Hand who have now dropped into the bottom half of the table after two defeats in a row.
Atletico Europa are still second after overcoming Caldecote Young Boys 3-1. Inter Cople maintain third spot winning 2-1 over Queensmen who find themselves one off the bottom.
Oakley remain unbeaten and top of Division One after a good victory against Old Hastingsburians, who have slipped recently from second place down to fourth.
It took only ten minutes for Oakley to take the lead after Cris Boniface slotted in a penalty as a result of Alex Woolston being chopped down in the area.
The score did not change until the second half when substitute Tommy Foyle proved his manager right by scoring twice. Jonny Filsell needed to be brave in Oakley's goal as Old Hastingsburians put in a fine effort. But Boniface settled things down when he scored Oakley's fourth.
Second-place Clearglaze played Haynes in the afternoon and came away with a 2-0 win. AFC Greyfriars slipped up in third place, losing 5-3 away to Burnaby Arms.
21st Century got a valuable point away to Bell Sandy but the three goals did not lift Century off the bottom. Newtown Rangers won their match at home to Stewartby 5-0 lifting the Rangers away from the basement but leaving the Brickies one point above Century.
It was a bit more dramatic in Division Two where Constant and Co Athletic were beaten at home 4-1 by Sharnbrook Casuals.
Second-place Wootton Wanderers dropped both points at London Road Old Boys, the score being 3-1. Eagle Heating are third, but dropped a point at home to struggling Bird in Hand Reserves.
In a scrappy game where Eagle did not do themselves justice, they actually scored in the second minute with a lofted shot over the Bird keeper. But all was not well at the back for Eagle and Bird gained a bit of confidence from seeing that.
It was perhaps inevitable when, in the 24th and and 43rd minutes, Bird scored twice after two examples of school-boy defending by Eagle Heating's back line.
Matthew Stapleton and Mark Cuthbert were the Bird's scorers. The second half improved with lots of endeavour on both sides, but just before the final whistle Bird failed to keep the Eagle's forward line in check and a loose ball was netted to make the final score two apiece.
Paul Carey and Simon Beever were the Eagle's scorers. Leaders Meltis Mexicans rattled in another seven goals to retain top spot in their game against Sharks.
A toothless Sharks team had no answer to the Meltis' haul of goals which were shared around the team.
The Mexican's scorers were Scott Alleyne, Danny Bennett and Ryan Grant before half-time, and it continued after the break with further goals from Danny Pilgrim, Steve Cunningham, Jason Simon. Cross Keys Wootton scored five out of the eight goals in their game against bottom club Wootton Park Rangers.
Sears Morgan and New Inn Biggleswade lead the way in Division Three both still retaining their 100 per cent record. Sears hammered Partizan Reserves 6-0, whilst New Inn beat Marston Reds by the slenderest of margins away from home.
The Inn started very slowly and conceded a sloppy goal after only ten minutes. Tom Wallace then equalised for New Inn after a sublime through ball by Mark Franklin on the half hour.
Ben Barker then gave Inn the lead when he headed in a corner from Mark Franklin, the ace provider it would appear Kempston Con Club lost at home to Salento, whose scorers were Mario Catrambone, Paulo Fregapane, who got two goals, and the mysterious 'Alan' who got the other one.
Wheatsheaf Flitwick and Harrold kept up their pressure in third and fourth places respectively, with Harrold getting a 4-3 win against Black Tom Rangers, and The Sheaf beating Bell Sandy Reserves 4-1.
Bottom club BMC failed to improve on their single point, going down 2-1at home to Cranfield.
The top four in Division Four all won, with Mowsbury Athletic retaining top spot after beating Caldecote Young Boys Reserves 4-1 away. It was 2-0 at half-time and by the 17th minute Mowsbury were cruising on 4-0.
The Young Boys scored a consolation goal right near the end of the match. The scorers for Mowsbury were Matt Barnes, Jack Cordell, Chris Thorman and Luigi Spinelli. Harpur Sunday beat Wells Stars 4-2 at home whilst Hobgoblin Old Boys had an expected win against bottom club North End Astros, scoring through Ian Perkins, Stuart Murray, Pete McCormack and Darren Watts.
Renhold are in fourth after beating Flitwick Eagles 5-2. Anthony Hubbard scored twice for Renhold with Jason Thompson and substitute Dale Matthews also getting on the scoresheet.
Renhold were gifted an own goal as if they needed the help. Renhold's keeper, John Gray, was not exactly idle, he pulled off one blinding save when the score was 4-1. Man of the match was Jamie Lovell. Bellini's recorded their first win of the season defeating fellow strugglers Bedford Panthers 3-0
Grafton Celtics remain unbeaten in the league after retaining top place in Division Five following their 4-1 win against Bird in Hand Lower Stondon, who now drop to the bottom on goal difference from Bromham who did not play.
Moor Lane Meltis seem to have just about recovered from last week's pasting from Bedford Allsters, but got past Rose Biggleswade only 3-2.
Meltis are second with third placed Clapham Sunday just behind after only drawing at Gardeners Arms Biggleswade. Bedford Rovers got their second win of the season after beating Bedford Albion 4-1 away, dropping the Albion down to fourth position in the table.
