What will you be watching as season draws to a close?
It's the final fling for many clubs plus all the fixtures
This weekend's Bedfordshire League Premier Division action depends on the outcome of the midweek games. But we could see the champagne corks popping on The Green if Campton can come up with the right result against Ickwell & Old Warden.
Sandy need three points at Oakley Sports but the outcome of that result could hand the title to Campton no matter what the result on The Green.
For the clubs chasing a top six finish, Meltis Corinthians appear to have the easier ride as they travel to bottom club Wilshamstead.
AFC Kempston Town won't fancy their chances when they face Blunham who themselves could yet claim a top six slot. Caldecote host Sharnbrook while Riseley Sports take on Westoning Recreation Club and a win for the latter would ensure them Premier football again next term.
And Luton Borough, now on a six game losing run, visit Renhold United who head them in the table by just a single point.
In Division One the title and promotion spots will not be settled until the following week.
However you would fancy all three leading clubs to pick up three points. Bedford SA are at Reddings Wood while both Henlow and Dunton will be just around the corner at Hillground; Dunton facing AFC Kempston Town Reserves and Henlow at Royal Oak Kempston.
Other action in this section takes Caldecote Reserves now unbeaten in their last five away games on the road to finish their season at bottom club Elstow Abbey whilst Stevington will ended their own season with a home game against Campton Reserves looking to end a run of three straight defeats with the final game in this division taking fourth place Flitwick Town on the road to Bedford Road to face a Sandy Reserves side thats as now won its last two home games to steer clear of the drop zone.
Action in Division Two sees league leaders Bedford College sit the afternoon out and gives second place Meltis Albion a chance to play their game in hand when they entertain Lidlington United Sports at Miller Road where you would expect them to collect the full three points, whilst third place Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves hit the road for a meeting with Marston Shelton Rovers looking to extend their unbeaten away record to four games against a home outfit that as won just once on home soil in their last nine games.
For the other games in this section little more than personal pride is at stake but Mulberry Bush after four straight wins will certainly be looking for the nap hand when they host Saffron in Hillgrounds yet perhaps both Great Barford who travel to face Newham Athletic at Carlton and Clifton who host Oakley Sports Reserves at Whiston Crescent will have a eye more on their following weeks Jubilee Cup Final clash.
The days final game coming in Jubilee Park where suddendly Meppershall Jurassic and their visitors Blunham Reserves can't seem to find a win from anywhere and perhaps a draw looks the most likely outcome.
In Division Three, the top game comes at Mill Lane where second place Blue Chip travel to face third place Potton Wanderers knowing just a point will secure them this season's silver medals but if they are to have any chance of taking the championship title, then only the full three points will do.
The Wanderers only trailing them on goal difference a home win would take them into second spot and in effect hand the championship title to AFC Kings even if they were to slip up in their visit to Hillgrounds where they face Meltis Corinthians Reserves, but to remain in second spot The Wanderers would then require Kings AFC returning them the favour on Monday evening by ensuring Blue Chip dont win their Russell Park clash which kicks off at 6.30pm.and finishes both clubs league season.
At the other end of the table the fight to avoid the wood spoon is hotting up as bottom club Exel United who now only trail Lidlington United Sports by two points look to have a chance of perhaps collecting a share of the spoils when they journey to face third from bottom Stewartby Village, whilst United Sports entertain AFC Shillington at Hurst Grove looking to extend their advantage over Exel United to more than three points ahead of their last day of the season meeting seven days later.
For the other teams again little more than pride is at stake but Wilshamstead Reserves will not want to lose their unbeaten ten game run when they journey at Cople Playing Fields to face Marabese Ceramics whilst other action comes at Steppingley Road where Flitwick Town Reserves host Sandy A, and in Hillgrounds which is the venue for Caldecote A visit to face Marsh Leys.
After the weekend the action moves onto Monday evening where apart from that all important Division Three clash in Russell Park, action also comes in Division One and Two, in Division One Supported By Sportsform, Bedford SA will certainly want to collect the full three home points from their Cople Playing Fields clash with Sandy Reserves whilst in Division Two all the top three clubs are in action, Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves facing Bedford College on The Green while Meltis Albion hit the road to face Woburn Reserves at Crawley Road.
The evenings final game coming at Hurst Grove where Lidlington United Sports entertain Clifton, with all games due to kick off at 6.30pm.
The midweek league season will then close fourty eight hours later with another five fixtures, four of which come in the Premier Division, at Bedford Road its derby action between Sandy and Blunham whilst Ickwell & Old Warden hit the road for a Hillgrounds meeting with AFC Kempston Town and Caldecote journey to Greenfield Road to face Westoning Recreation Club the fourth game seeing Meltis Corinthians in home action at Miller Road against Riseley Sports.
The lone Division One Supported By Sportsform game comes at Cutler Hammer which will be home from home for both clubs as Kempston entertain Reddings Wood who of course play their home fixtures at the same venue, again all games kick off at 6.30pm.
