Pubs in Blunham and Gamlingay prepare to welcome drinkers this weekend
Beer connoisseurs can banish the bank holiday boredom by supping some real ales and ciders at two beer festivals.

At the Salutation pub in Blunham High Street, a range of 15 ales and a few ciders from across the country will be on offer from today (Friday) until Monday (August 25).

Entertainment comes from Dr Busker and the Pirate Crew on Friday, Sam Lewis on Saturday and Just George on Sunday.

There will also be the traditional delivery by shire horse and dray cart on Saturday afternoon at around 2pm.

Meanwhile The Cock Inn in Gamlingay is holding a mini beer festival on Saturday and Sunday all day with a barbecue also available.

The pub's landlady also thanked everyone who attended a charity gig that was held to raise money for Milton Children's Hospice and St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger.

Landlady Vanessa Roberts said: "A big thank you has to go to all involved in helping to arrange the day, those that gave their time freely and to all that donated prizes.

"A great time was had by all and we now intend for this to be an annual event."
