Bikini-clad beauties and firefighters raise cash for Biggleswade community group
Bikini-clad beauties and firefighters will be wielding their sponges to help raise cash for a Biggleswade community group.

A bras and buckets gang will be cleaning cars at Asda in support of the Massive Impact youth community group – which is part of a residents group that sprung up thanks to the town's community safety forum.

The group was formed around the triangle play area in the Winston Crescent area, and sees everyone from the youngsters of Massive Impact, who are aged from ten to 15, to the elderly getting involved in community life and helping tackle the problems that affect them.

Teresa Robinson, who founded the group, said: "It was really scary when I started and I wondered if I was taking on too much.

"But Nicola from Aragon Housing and Pc Ian Wilson came around for a cup of tea and explained how they could guide me. And now we have achieved so much. In fact I felt like giving myself a pat on the back after our first event."

Since being formed the group has taken part in numerous fundraising events, including an Easter fun day and a sponsored football match with firefighters that aimed to raise cash for new goal posts – encouraging youngsters to use the triangle play area rather than taking to the streets.

Teresa is set to head the car wash, which will take place from 10am until 2pm on Friday, August 29.
