Biggleswade disabled access in focus at Wednesday forum
Access to Biggleswade Railway Station is set to be discussed at a public meeting tonight (Wednesday).

A petition, organised by the North East Beds Labour Party called for easier access at the station where platforms are only reachable via long staircases.

Ed Brown, prospective parliamentary candidate for Labour, said: "I have been struck by the strength of local feeling on this issue.

Many local people feel very restricted by their inability to use a key part of the local public transport in the area."

Local councils and rail operator First Capital Connect have been invited.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start at the town hall on Saffron Road.

For the first report from the meeting see this website on Thursday.

What is the future of our special schools?
Keep them, they do a great job
Merge them, it's the way forward
Close them and integrate into mainstream schools
