Biggleswade martial artist to release two more self-defence books
A martial artist from Biggleswade is set to release two more books to help women protect themselves against attack following the success of his first self defence guide.

Frank Nezhadpournia, 36, of Shortmead Street, will be launching the second edition of his book Defending Against Attack for Women in January.

Frank, a fourth degree black belt in traditional Shotokan karate was prompted to add more tips and case studies by the success of the first edition, which was published in March this year.

He said: "I have done over 1,000 self-defence workshops and more than 40 book signings around the country, and lots of women have told me how they wish they'd heard my advice before they were attacked.

"They have encouraged me to use their stories in the second edition, and to try and get my message out to as many women as possible."

The book describes how women can handle knife attacks, spot the four different types of attacker, or even deal with multiple attackers.

The book is available to pre-order through Frank's website and will be in shops around the country from January 15.

And on January 1 he will release another new martial arts manual called Defending Against Attack: The Shotokan Way.
