Young Henlow singer wins talent competition
A young singing sensation coached by her older sister has been crowned the winner of Letchworth's Got Talent.
Halina McNeil, 12, beat off stiff competition from ten other hopeful talented youngsters on Saturday when she wowed judges with her rendition of Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On.
One of the judges was so impressed that he said the performance sent 'shivers down his spine.'
Halina, of Newtown, Henlow, has been singing for years and is taught by her older sister Liv, 19, who teaches singing for a living.
The pair were put in for the talent contest by their grandmother Rose, but Liv was unable to make the audition.
Halina went to the first audition at the town's Elizabeth Howard Memorial Hall on July 20 where she competed against 50 other hopefuls in the under 18s category.
The Henlow Middle School pupil was awarded with a trophy, £50 book vouchers and £100, which she has already spent on a new phone.
And after sailing through her first ever competition she is now hoping to audition for Britain's Got Talent next year and X-Factor when she is old enough.
