Pictures from St Mary's Scarecrow Festival at Northill and Ickwell
The gardens of Northill and Ickwell were adorned with the most amazing collection of scarecrows during the Friends of St Mary's Scarecrow Festival at the weekend.

Over 45 scarecrows took part – and what a fabulous sight they proved to be.

The time, effort and creativity involved was incredible – scarecrows were seen breaking into houses, landing from outer space, swinging from trees, mowing lawns, ringing bells while some were just sitting having a well-earned rest!

There were scarecrow cats and dogs so realistic they got attacked by pets, some playing sports, climbing roofs, keeping bees, performing fiendish operations, evolving or undressing and simply passing by.

Many many thanks to all who took considerable effort making and siting their scarecrows – the fun and time taken was well appreciated by all.

Many thanks too, to all the visitors and of course all who helped out at Ickwell Village Hall, making cakes, selling raffle tickets and serving teas – over £1,200 was made which will be well spent in maintaining the church.
