Woman admits killing husband
Wife pleads guilty to stabbing at their Arlesey home
A woman this week admitted in court to stabbing her husband to death.
Annamarie Janczuk was arrested after her husband Steven was found dead at the couple's home in The Rally, Arlesey on December 30, 2006.
She was later charged with his murder, which she denied.
The murder trial was due to start at Inner London Crown Court on Monday morning and was expected to last several weeks.
However proceedings were suspended and on Wednesday Janczuk, 34, pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter.
A court spokesman said: "The CPS have now agreed to the lesser charge of manslaughter and the defendant has changed her plea to guilty."
Police were alerted to the killing when they were called to the block of flats by an ambulance crew at around 6.40am.
Mr Janczuk, 30, was rushed to Lister Hospital in Stevenage but was pronounced dead on arrival, due to a stab wound to the abdomen.
The couple had no children and lived on the top floor of a block of flats in the road.
Neighbours said they kept themselves to themselves and didn't cause any trouble.
There were no witnesses to the incident.
The case has now been adjourned and Janczuk, who was remanded in custody, is due to appear at the court again on August 8 for sentencing.
