Community will rejuvenate town

A TOWN could be given a new lease of life with the launch of a community scheme.
Two businessmen, Andy Maycock and Phillip Wingfield, are setting up a town team designed to improve Sandy’s town centre, Mary Portas style. They hope to involve the whole community.
Andy, who runs The Music Room, said: “Sandy is like a ghost town on Saturday afternoons.
“There are enough people around that want the town to succeed but I think it needs a bigger force. If we pull together we can get some things done.”
The scheme is supported by Sandy Town Council.
Andy and Phillip, of Mama’s Coffee Shop, agree that improving the market would be high on the agenda.
There will be a Sandy Town Team meeting on Thursday, February 23 at 7pm. It will be held in the Sandy Baptist Church rooms and everyone is invited.
