Arlesey's Steam Engine in 1930

Village pub when it was run by the Blands

This 1930 photograph shows The Steam Engine public house in Arlesey.

The front is clearly advertising Wells Bedford Ales and Stout, and standing in front are Mrs Bland and her son Edward, known as Ted.

The photograph was sent in by Kathleen Smith nee Bland who said: "I lived in Arlesey for most of my life. But now my husband and I live way down in Adelaide, South Australia."

Thanks go to Kathleen for sharing this picture with Memory Lane.
