The Billy Fury Years

The Billy Fury Years

Bring back memories of Billy Fury with a tribute show.

The Billy Fury Years, which stars Michael King, is coming to the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage later this month.

It is 30 years since Billy Fury’s untimely death but his name and music are far from forgotten.

In the sixties Billy Fury had more Decca hits than any other artist including the Rolling Stones.

He equaled The Beatles’ record of 24 hits and spent a total of 332 weeks on the UK charts.

He was the fourth biggest selling artist of the sixties after The Beatles, Cliff Richards and Elvis and is regarded by many as the foremost rock ‘n’ roller the UK has ever produced.

The two hour show is filled with Billy Fury’s greatest hits, delivered in true Fury style.

The show is enhanced with fantastic audio and visual effects plus various costumes depicting the ever changing image and face of the Fury phenomenon.

Michael King played the role of Billy Fury in the smash hit 2008 show, Buddy Holly 50th Anniversary Tour.

He also featured as the rock ‘n’ roll singer, Ricky Corvette, in the stage show In Dreams and as Billy Fury in the stage show Roy Orbison and Friends.

See The Billy Fury Years on Sunday, February 17 at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £17.50 from the box office on 01438 363200.

Meanwhile actor Mario Pirovano is taking his UK tour to Great Gransden Church on Friday, February 15.

Little Gransden resident Sylvia Sullivan arranged for the Italian actor to perform his show, Francis, The Holy Jester.

The show is in aid of the churches in Great Gransden and Little Gransden. It starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £9 for adults and £8 for concessions. They are available from Sylvia on 01767 677906.
