TALES from an unusual youth are sure to be a whole barrel of laughs.

Stand-up comedian Brett Goldstein is embarking on his debut national tour with his critically acclaimed show Brett Goldstein Grew Up in a Strip Club.

Brett will have the audience in hysterics as he tells them the true story of his adventures while spending a year running a Marbella strip club with his father at the age of 21 – and having his innocence shattered in the process.

In 2001 Brett’s father left his wife, sold his bookshop and bought a strip club in Marbella.

Brett was taken along for the ride by this extreme mid-life crisis.

And it certainly didn’t do his future career any harm as he is now buzzing with tales to tell!

The hilarious anecdotes, complete with the Mafia, drugs and stripping, are guaranteed to make middle aged men feel better about only buying a Ferrari.

Brett has appeared in more than 20 theatre productions, including playing the principal roles in David Mamet’s Edmond and Speed the Plow.

He also played the lead in the Edinburgh premiere of Ben Elton’s Popcorn and had his first feature role in the thriller Wish You Were Here, which he wrote himself.

Additionally he plays Albert, one of the leads in Noel Clarke’s new film, The Knot.

For the past four and a half years Brett has been performing stand-up gigs, 800 in total.

He has performed for the Comedy Reserve at the Pleasance and at the Big Value Show at Just the Tonic, at The Stand, Banana Cabaret, Outside the Box, The Stand Glasgow and at Highlight.

He even supported Patrick Monahan at the Royal Albert Hall.

His is also a regular at Storm 99 club and the Covent Garden Comedy Club.

Bedford Corn Exchange will present Brett Goldstein Grew Up in a Strip Club on Friday, February 10. The performance will start at 7.30pm in the Harpur Suite and tickets cost £10.
