Plenty of baby oil needed as wrestling descends on town

It's fight night at Bedford Corn Exchange

Break out the baby oil because a Wrestling Spectacular is slamming into Bedford next week.

For some reason muscle bound men in lycra has always appealed to young boys under the age of ten years old and although we all claim we grow out of the grappling fascination, it stills proves to be a bit like a car crash, you can't help but look.

American wrestling star and reigning champion of Florida Chasyn Rance will be one of the top attractions as he makes his only UK appearance, despite the high-flying American being a big hit with British fans when he last wrestled in England four years ago.

Rance, from Miami Beach, will be making his 500th ring appearance when he climbs through the ropes at the Corn Exchange despite being only 26 years old and is on the wanted list of the top American companies.

He squares off against British wrestling's most volatile characters, the former PWF title-holder "Destroyer" Lee Darren, when Wrestling Spectacular comes to Bedford Corn Exchange next Thursday (October 29).

Also on the star-studded bill is a bout between Christian Eckstein, of Germany, and England's Robbie Brookside for the European Inter-Continental heavyweight title.

Brookside, who lost the title to Eckstein in 2007, will be gunning for revenge, but Eckstein has an impressive record with recent victories over Japan's Kenichiro Arai, Michael Kovac, of Austria, and American TNA star Doug Williams.

Among the other stars in action will be one of British wrestling's most exciting young stars, Wade Fitzgerald, winner of the American Rumble on the last show at the Corn Exchange.

So catch all the action next Thursday from 7.30pm. Tickets cost 10 adult, 8.50 children.
