A leading house builder is aiming to raise £10,000 to help vulnerable children as it names its charity partner for 2012.

Persimmon Homes Thames Valley has pledged to hold a series of fundraising events for the NSPCC’s ChildLine services during 2012 – a significant milestone for both organisations.

As Persimmon Homes marks its 40th anniversary, ChildLine celebrates its 25th year offering a free and confidential helpline to children and young people.

Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, which has developments in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and Berkshire, has linked up with the NSPCC, to support its ChildLine services in the region.

Elaine Stratford, Sales Director of Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, said: “ChildLine is there for children and young people around the clock and provides amazing support throughout the region and all across the UK. We believe this charity is highly relevant to our business – after all these are the home owners of the future.”

“As a business we are extremely proud to be associated with the charity and look forward to working alongside them in the coming year. We and our contractors expect to hold some exciting and entertaining events this year which will involve not only our staff but our customers as well.”

Geraldine Harmon, fundraising manager for the NSPCC, said: “We would like to thank everyone at Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, as without the support of these partnerships, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue to run our services, which are so often a lifeline to children and young people.

“The money raised through our partnership will play a huge role in helping us put an end to child cruelty.”

The charity partnership will be officially launched at Persimmon’s first fundraiser for ChildLine on, July 6th, at the new housing development in Cumnor Hill, Oxfordshire.
