Theatrical productions are developing a festive theme as the year draws to a close.

Enjoy a 19th century celebration with A Victorian Christmas at Bedford Corn Exchange tonight (Friday).

The fully costumed show includes carols and songs, tunes, stories and a traditional mummer’s play. It starts at 7.30pm in the venue’s Howard Room. Tickets cost £12 and concessions are available.

The Damned are rocking out in the main auditorium tomorrow at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20.

They were the first punk rock band from the UK to release a single, New Rose and an album, Damned, Damned, Damned, and to tour the United States.

The band’s show will be supported by The Dickies.

The Philharmonia Orchestra will perform Beethoven and Brahms on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £12 to £33.

The Gordon Craig Theatre’s annual pantomime, The Adventures of Robin Hood, begins tomorrow and continues until Sunday, January 27. For tickets and times call the box office on 01438 363200.

Glyndebourne opera company is performing Dvorak’s Rusalka tonight at Milton Keynes Theatre. It starts at 7.15pm and tickets cost from £25.

A water nymph’s desperate longing to experience true love plunges her into the emotional maelstrom of life at a handsome Prince’s court.

She emerges with a profound understanding of the unspeakable pain, as well as the fleeting joys, of human existence.

And tomorrow the same company will perform Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the theatre. This will be a matinee performance at 4pm. The same ticket prices apply.

Known in English as The Marriage of Figaro, this is a story of servants outwitting their master.

Cambridge Operatic Society members are performing Oliver! at Cambridge Arts Theatre.

You can see the musical, which is based on Charles Dickens’ novel and written by Lionel Bart, tonight at 7.30pm and tomorrow at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £15.

Then on Thursday the annual pantomime takes to the stage.

This year Cambridge Arts Theatre is hosting Jack and the Beanstalk. It runs until Sunday, January 13.
