Burglars target 72-year-old

Burglars stole a 72-year-old’s mobile phone after calling at his home.

The victim was at home in Queensway in Langford when the incident occurred between 3pma nd 4pm on Tuesday (October 30).

The man, who had advertised a bike for sale, heard a knock at the front door and when he answered he spoken to by a man who said that a friend wanted to buy the bike.

A second man – believed to be called Tyron – then approached the front door and the victim showed the two men around the side of his house to the garden where the bike was stored.

As he did so, the first male returned to the front of the house while the male known as Tyron looked at the bike before saying he needed to go to Biggleswade to get some money.

Both men then left the house. When the victim returned to his lounge he realised that his mobile phone and a quantity of tobacco was missing.

Detective Constable Emma Dahl from Bedfordshire Police, who is investigating the incident, is keen to hear from anyone who was in the Queensway area of Langford and may have seen the two males or anything else suspicious during the time periods mentioned.

The first offender is described as a black male, around five feet four inches tall, of skinny build and wearing a red baseball cap and red trainers.

The second offender, believed to be called Tyron, was also a black male, of similar height and build and wearing a red baseball cap and a red jacket.
