Larger water main now to be installed
A LARGER water main will be installed to cater for a town’s expanding population.
Anglian Water is spending £160,000 on Biggleswade’s water supply. Supplies will be transferred from the current main on London Road to a larger water main following the same route. Work will take place from Monday (January 30) until May.
Antony Innes from Anglian Water said: “Over the next couple of months we will be working along London Road to transfer water supplies to a larger main. By doing this we can ensure the water supplies for customers are secure and maintain supplies to the town as the population expands in coming years.”
Most people will not notice a difference but others may have low water pressure for a few hours, particularly in The Baulk and Drove Road area during the night.
Work will take place in eight locations between Crab Lane and Dunton Lane. There will be traffic lights on London Road.
