Candlelit celebration

The Christingle service took place at St Andrew’s Church in Biggleswade on Sunday.

The traditional annual service took place by candle light, and included the giving out of oranges and other tasty things.

Donations from the event will go to the Children’s Society, who work with vulnerable children and young runaways.

Giving was aimed specifically at the Child Poverty project.

Sunday also saw the Family Eucharist service.

The second Advent candle was lit and during the opening hymn, many brought up new toys for later distribution to children in need in the local area.

Special Christmas services will be taking place at churches across Chronicle Country – see the town and village news for details.
