A prima ballerina with the Basle State Ballet, Rosemarie was born in Montreal and came to the UK in her early childhood.

She took her mother’s maiden name as her stage name and retained strong links with the village.

She was also an artist, designer and community worker and a regular visitor to St John the Baptist Church in Cockayne, where her ashes were scattered after her death last year.

Rosemarie was well known in the village and attended many of the church events.

She left a number of paintings which are to be sold for charitable purposes - and particularly for Cockayne Hatley Church.

There will be a most attractive and extensive exhibition with all the paintings for sale at very reasonable prices.

The tower will be open for the energetic and there will be books and cakes for sale.

The event is on June 11 at the church.
