STUDENTS at a middle school picked up tips on how to become a professional musician from a rising talent.
Up-and-coming RnB star A*M*E hosted a workshop at Holmemead Middle School in Biggleswade last Tuesday (February 7).
Teenage sensation A*M*E, who is 17 and from Sierra Leone performed a selection of tracks and then held a question and answer session with students.
The singer also held a song-writing and lyrics workshop for youngsters.
Cate Lawson, cross curriculum leader for creativity at the school who supervised the visit was impressed with the students’ response to the singer.
She said: “A*M*E was very down to earth and friendly and she is a good performer and very professional.
“She performed five tracks in addition to doing the workshop and I think the style of music is one that appeals to a lot of the students.”
The visit was the latest of a series from professional musicians who have performed for and spoken to students in recent weeks.
Ms Lawson added: “We have a lot of students here who are quite musical and it is always a privilege to welcome somebody who has already enjoyed success in the business.
“Hopefully these kind of workshops help to inspire the young musicians we have at Holmemead.”
Previous workshops have been hosted by former Status Quo drummer Jeff Rich and up-and-coming street band Luminites.
