The car’s the star!

YOUNG petrolheads at an upper school had the chance to look under the bonnet of a top sports car.

Engineering students at Samuel Whitbread Community College in Clifton could examine the engine and inner workings of a Vauxhall VX220 turbo car.

Vauxhall originally developed the car which was later manufactured under licence by Lotus.

Relatively few models were made and the school has thanked Vauxhall for donating the vehicle.

Assistant principal Adrian Miller said: “The school is very grateful to Vauxhall for supporting our engineering courses.”
