A market stall event was held by members of Sandy Historical Research Group (SHRG) in the square on Friday, June 3.
SHRG secretary Richard Barlow said: “This was our first attempt at reaching out to local people by means of a market stall. Many local shoppers were fascinated when they viewed some of the many old photos of Sandy that we hold in our archive.
“It’s good that Sandy Town Council allow local societies to book a stall plus a gazebo and table for free. I think that we contributed to the market atmosphere as groups of people gathered round our stand to chat and take a look.”
On Saturday SHRG followed up their market event with a larger exhibition of photos and maps at Sandy Methodist Church.
