A science fiction author has had his first book published.
Clive Smith, who lives in Station Road in Lower Stondon, wrote Sisters of Mia over several years.
The technical sales manager said: “I had the story in my head 15 years ago but it took me quite a few years to think how I was going to start it. One day I thought I knew and off it went.”
Mirador Publishing agreed to print Clive’s book and to produce e-editions.
Clive said: “I was extremely pleased. To have a book published is quite an achievement.”
The book tells the story of a race of female aliens who visit Earth. They are a peaceloving race but humans discover their other worldly plants, which they use for fuelling their space ships.
The aliens, from a planet called Mia, cannot leave without first destroying the plants.
Clive, 62, added: “I remember as a young boy seeing all those stars and thinking there’s got to be someone else out there. If they came to Earth they would be far more advanced than we are.”
Sisters of Mia is available in the shops and in all electronic formats. It costs £8.99 in paperback and £3.28 as an e-edition on Amazon.
Clive is about to start work on a sequel.
