Youngsters at a lower school delved into the past when they were visited by museum staff.
North Herts Museum Services went to Caldecote Lower School in Upper Caldecote on Friday, April 25 to meet with the Year Three children.
The visitors held a series of workshops about both the Anglo Saxons and the Vikings.
Pupils were able to handle artefacts from the museum and to dress up in period costumes. They also learnt about which kind of grave goods would have been buried with warriors. On a more domestic note, they discovered how to spin their own wool and how to weave on an early loom.
The visit will help the children to improve their knowledge of history.
