Take your apples along for a mouthwatering afternoon.
Potton Apple Day, which is now an annual event, will be held on Sunday, September 29.
The apples will be juiced and to make delicious apple juice. Bring along empty bottles too so that you can take your juice home. And do not worry if you have too much as it can be stored in the freezer.
Apple experts will also be apple to identify your apple and tell you what the variety was developed for.
There will also be a good selection of local cider on sale including some that was made from the juice at last year’s apple day.
There will be a prize for the best cider and a panel of judges will award a specially commissioned pot tankard, made by a local artist to commemorate the event.
Additionally the Hall for All group wants to hear your ideas for the community orchard planned for the new development.
There will be orchard exhibitions and displays as well as apple inspired bakery items and pork rolls. The waste apples are fed to the pigs at the end of the day so nothing is wasted! The event runs from noon to 4pm at St Mary’s Church Hall.
