Some of the best marching music from across the world will be heard at a special event this weekend.

The Ouse Valley Sounds Contest at Biggleswade Town Football Club will take place on Saturday (September 8) and on Sunday (September 9).

Now in its ninth year, the contest will feature Bedfordshire’s own Nexus Drum & Bugle Corps as well as the Kidsgrove Scouts and Black Knights.

The event will consist of two different contests.

On Saturday there will be a British Youth Band Association (BYBA) competition.

The BYBA aims to provide a focus for the British youth band movement, and to provide opportunities for the development of youngsters through performances within the marching arts.

On Sunday it will be the turn of the Drum Corps United Kingdom (DCUK).

The charitable organisation promotes and supports its member corps within the UK.

Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 concessions, while admission is free for children under the age of five.

The gates open at 2pm on Saturday and at 11.30am on Sunday.
