A school’s summer fete had a First World War theme.
Sutton Lower School’s grand summer event was held on Saturday (June 21).
There was maypole dancing, a performance by the choir and gymnastics in the main arena. There was also a tug of war and traditional sack races.
At the front of the school there were Ferrari and Dodge Charger rides whilst in the back there was a mini farm, ice creams, stalls and refreshments.
The fete was so popular that every parking space in the village was taken.
Mrs Hines, a local resident, said: “I thought that the heart was going out of our local communities but you can see that events like this just bring our community to life.”
