Fyrefly-in up the charts again!

Langford band celebrates more success in USA

A Mid Beds band's ascent of one of America's top charts has reached new heights after notching up another top ten hit.

Indie rock group Fyrefly are celebrating after a second song from their debut album reached number three in the country's IAC Big 50.

Track Jus' Lookin entered the chart at number 34 but has risen steadily after thousands of fans downloaded and listened to the song over the internet.

It follows hot on the heals of the group's success in March when their song Stain got to number one in the same chart.

Lead singer Miche Follano of Old Mill Close, Langford, said: "We were blown away with the success we had with Stain. To have another song in the Big 50 is just amazing."

The Independent Artists Company (IAC) is the largest independent US internet radio content provider giving bands a platform to submit their work.

Miche, added: "A panel then looks at all the songs submitted and decide which ones they think are good enough to go in the chart."

Their position is then decided by the number of music fans who log on and listen to the songs.

Fyrefly's latest chart success rounds off a busy summer for the band which has seen them perform in front of thousands of fans at Hitchin's Rhythms of the World festival.

The band's debut album Boho Sheep is due to be released in America and Canada within the next six weeks and work on their second album is already well underway.

See this week's Biggleswade Chronicle (August 31) for the full report.
