Retail heavyweights H&M and TK Maxx are to open new stores in Biggleswade.
The two are among a host of retailers who have signed up for the redeveloped London Road Retail Park in the town.
Speaking at a Biggleswade Town Council meeting on Tuesday, Mary Davidson from planning consultants WYG confirmed that the Arcadia Group are also interested in one of the park’s units.
Arcadia own a variety of high street clothing retailers including Dorothy Perkins, Topman, Topshop and Miss Selfridge.
Giving a presentation to councillors, Ms Davidson said: “There have been delays with the project due to negotiations with some of the retailers but we are very excited as we are almost there now.
“The first work at the site, the removal of some of the trees will start in February.”
Ms Davidson was also attending the meeting to see councillors consider a new planning application for the site, put in due to demand for new units at from interested businesses. If approved the application – backed unanimously by councillors – will also see the number of parking spaces being reduced from 825 to 795.
Flagship store Marks & Spencer will include a foodhall, Ms Davidson confirmed.
