Biggleswade golfer up for a challenge
A GOLFER has a long day ahead of him on the course.
James Wheeler and three of his friends will complete 72 holes in just one day to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
They are taking part in the Macmillan Longest Day Challenge on Tuesday, May 31. This involves playing from dawn to dusk, with the first tee-off time at 5am.
James, who lives in Sage Close, Biggleswade, said: “A very good friend of mine had cancer a few years back so it seemed a good thing to do.
“There will be four of us including the friend who has recovered from cancer.”
The team hopes to raise £2,500 and so far they have reached the £750 mark. They will be playing at Abbotsley Golf Club in St Neots.
They will have to hit more than 300 shots during the day.
