A mountain bike was stolen from a family’s back garden while they slept.
The bike, a black, red and grey 26inch Raleigh, was in the garden of the house on Holme Crescent in Biggleswade.
But despite being protected by a 6ft fence and padlocked gate, thieves still managed to snatch it.
The bike is distinctive in that it has no rear mud guard.
Yvonne Simmons, whose 17-year-old son owns the bike, said: “My son hadn’t long had the bike. He suffers with severe eczma and is special needs and is just devastated that someone’s done this.”
The theft took place between 11.30pm on Tuesday and 7.30am on Wednesday.
Anyone with information about the bike’s whereabouts should contact police on 101.
