Bricks and mortar have made it onto the timetable for students at Stratton Upper School – giving them the opportunity to find out more about the construction industry.

A group of Year 10 youngsters f were invited to take a look around one of the area’s newest housing projects by Linden Homes Midlands, as part of their City & Guilds 6218 Level 1 Certificate in Construction.

Site manager Carl Haskell – pictured with the youngsters – chatted to them about the building and finishing process.

Teacher Scott Jenkins said: “This has been a great experience for the students to find out first hand about the various elements that go into building homes. They will go back to the classroom armed with fresh knowledge which will stand them in excellent stead for the next part of their course.”
