A woman woke in the early hours to find a burglar in her bedroom.

The 64-year-old victim was woken up at around 1am on Sunday morning (September 23) as the man was searching the room in Fairfield Road, Biggleswade.

She screamed and the burglar ran downstairs and out of the front door, but he made off with her handbag, purse and cash.

He had used a ladder to climb onto a conservatory roof before gaining access to the house through an open window.

The victim did not see the burglar’s face but he was of slim build and was wearing a grey hooded top and black trousers.

Anyone with any information should contact Detective Constable Amanda Durrant at Bedfordshire Police on 01234 275035, the non-emergency number 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
