Churches to formally unite

Churches in one Chronicle Country town are to formally unite.

The Anglican, Baptist, Catholic and Methodist churches in Shefford have worked together informally for many years.

They will now be making the union a formal one at a service on Sunday, January 20.

Representatives from each church will attend the event at Shefford Methodist Church, which starts at 6.30pm.

During the service representatives from each church will sign the constitution they have all agreed to follow. The Reverend Andrew Gale, ecumenical officer for Beds, will preach.
