Claim help to stay warm, MP urges

An MP is urging people to find out if they are eligible for free heating and insulation improvements.

Alistair Burt, MP for North East Beds, hopes poorer households will apply to the government’s Warm Front scheme. He said: “I urge anyone who has seen their energy bill rise to a level above what they can afford to contact the Warm Front to see if they are eligible for the support.”

He thanks Consumer Focus, Citizens Advice, Age UK and National Children’s Bureau for publicising the scheme. Eligibility criteria has now been widened. See if you qualify by calling Warm Front on 0800 316 2805, visiting www.direct.gov.uk or going to a Citizens Advice Bureau or Age UK.
