A charitable community group will be raising festive funds for the last time.
Sandy and District Round Table is closing down after 44 years. Sadly the group does not have enough members to keep going and it will disappear in April next year.
Chairman Chris Parr said: “Due to changing circumstances recruiting for Round Table has become more and more difficult.
“Getting people to commit to Round Table when family and work pressures and are increasingly uppermost in people’s minds has resulted in a gradual loss of members.
“We are now in a position where Sandy and District Round Table is no longer able to maintain the commitments to the local community that it was established to do.”
The Christmas collections are a major part of the calendar and members fondly remember the snowy collection of 2010.
Chris added: “It’s a great shame that after 44 years of amazing work in the local area such a recognised part of community life will no longer be around.”
He thanks everyone for their generosity over the years.
Christmas collections will be in Carlisle Close and Swansholme in Sandy on Thursday, December 5, in Blunham on Wednesday, December 11 at ASDA in Biggleswade on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, in Fallowfields in Sandy on Monday, December 16 and Thursday, December 19 and at Sainsbury’s in Biggleswade on Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22.
