Communion students create Pascal mosaics during workshop at St Peter's
Members of the First Holy Communion group took part in a mosaic workshop at St Peter's Church in Biggleswade.
The session began with an introduction to the Pascal Candle used in church and the students made their own candle designs in mosaic form using vitreous glass, ceramic and marble tesserae.
Carolyn Blake, who ran the workshop, said: “Although this was their first attempt at making mosaics, the students seemed undeterred when it came to cutting the shapes they needed and the finished works were a delightful array of patterns and colours. A big thank you to everyone who joined in to make this such a successful, meaningful and fun day.”
