Alistair Burt, MP for North East Beds, paid a visited to a family owned company which is keen to employ young people.
On Monday he took a tour of Endoline Machinery, which is on Stratton Business Park in Biggleswade.
The company employs 45 people who design and manufacture packaging equipment that goes to leading companies such as Amazon and Tesco.
Endoline has formed a partnership with Central Beds University Technical College and this year it will embark on an apprenticeship scheme and a work experience programme.
Mr Burt said: “Endoline believe that by encouraging youngsters into the industry and bringing back apprenticeships and work place schemes they will do their bit to bridge the current skills gap for future generations.”
