Contest winner Lydia is a true Bond girl!

A James Bond fan had the chance to interview 007 as part of a national radio show.

Lydia Maddix of Sandy was able to ask Bond star Daniel Craig a question during Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 breakfast show.

Student Lydia, 19, was one of a small number of fans to meet Daniel and Skyfall co-star Naomie Harris at the BBC’s studios in London.

She was invited to take part after finishing as a finalist in a video competition.

Entrants were asked to recreate their favourite ever Bond scene and send their video in for judging.

Lydia – who is studying English Literature with Film, Radio and Television at Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent – opted for the iconic laser scene from Goldfinger.

She said: “My sister Lucy played me the clip I wanted to re-enact over the phone and I created the script while I was on the train home from university.

“My sister Michelle helped me out with the props, hair and clothes and my two nephews Kurtis and Kyle starred in the video with me.”

Lydia then received an unexpected call.

She said: “I was short-listed from thousands of entries into the final five, and they rang me and told me live on air that I was one of the winners!”

Lydia asked Daniel and Naomie which Bond girl they would save if they were reincarnated as a computer and could choose just one.

She added: “Both Daniel and Naomie laughed and they said they were not expecting a question like that!”
