Cream teas boost roof fund for St Mary's Church

A cream tea afternoon held in Potton has raised more than £750 for church repairs.

The fundraiser was organised by Chris Boxhall and Lynn Sexton, with proceeds all in aid of St Mary’s Church roof fund upgrade.

The event was held in Chris’s garden and more than 90 people attended to enjoy the cream tea, a raffle and a bric-a-brac stall, all in fine weather.

A spokesman for the church said: “Incredibly more than £750 was raised giving a worthwhile boost to the fund.

“Thanks go to Lynn and Chris for their tremendous effort in organising the event, to all their helpers and providers of the cakes and other refreshments, and finally to all those who came to enjoy the afternoon and help with the fundraising.”
