Curry on with the King!
A TOP Elvis impersonator who once performed for the Prime Minister is singing at a forthcoming charity night.
Miguel Olivares-Alvarez, who played at David Cameron’s birthday party will be appearing at The Viceroy restaurant in Biggleswade on Wednesday, March 7.
The fundraiser, which will also include a four-course meal is being held partly in aid of the Edward Peake Middle School Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) project.
The school is considering building the MUGA for sport and games in all weather as its current playground surface is not suitable for use when it has been raining.
It would be expected to cost around £200,000 to build and the school has been writing to businesses and organisations in the area for help with funding. The MUGA would also be available for clubs and members of the community to use.
Funds from the night will also go to the Aysha Academy Trust, a registered charity which is run by the Boshor family who own the Sun Street restaurant.
The charity has opened two schools in Bangladesh, providing basic education, clothing, housing and food to more than 500 orphans.
The Boshor family are now hoping to raise money for charities and causes in Chronicle Country as well.
Manager Belal Boshor will be running a stall selling food from the restaurant at the Tuesday Biggleswade Market, starting from Tuesday (January 17).
All proceeds will go to the Aysha Academy Trust.
Belal is also inviting clubs and societies in the area to have a meal at the restaurant and receive some of the money they pay back.
He said: “Organisations can come down and we will split the proceeds from the bill between them and the Trust.”
For more information contact Belal on 01767 312110.
