A cyclist has been injured in a hit and run collision near Dunton.

The victim was left with a broken collar bone when he was struck by a car that failed to stop yesterday morning (Thursday).

The incident happened at around 7.10am as the cyclist was travelling around the roundabout at the junction of Biggleswade Road, Dunton, and Sutton Lane.

A car travelling from the Sutton or Potton area then entered the roundabout and collided with the cyclist, who was knocked on to the bonnet and then into the road. The offender did not stop and sped off towards Dunton.

The victim was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage for treatment and it was confirmed that he had suffered a broken collar bone as well as minor facial injuries.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or may have seen the vehicle – which is described as a light coloured car, possibly a small people carrier - either before or after the collision.

If you have information relating to this incident, contact PC Russell Thompson in the Roads Policing Unit on the non-emergency number 101, or text information to 07786 200011.

Alternatively contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
