A married diplomatic protection officer has admitted three counts of misconduct in a public office.

Ricci Giff, 38, of Sandy abandoned his post at the Israeli embassy in London three times to meet his lover, Melissa Ramsden, between October and December 2011.

Miss Ramsden, who suffered anxiety and had a mild personality disorder, committed suicide in December 2011.

His case was heard at Southwark Crown Court on Monday (March 4).

Judge Anthony Leonard QC adjourned the court for sentencing later this month.

Giff faces a potential jail sentence.
