Elderly man had dog set on him during attack

AN elderly man was beaten to the ground and had a dog set on him during an unprovoked attack.

The 74-year-old was set upon by two teenagers in Stratton Way, Biggleswade at around 5.50pm on Sunday (January 22).

The man, who was also punched while he was lying on the ground was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage where he was treated for a cut to his head which required four stitches.

He was also left with severe swelling to his face.

The first youth is described as being white, in his late teens and wearing a red top with its hood pulled up and dark bottoms.

He was in control of the dog, described as being chocolate or light brown with some black patches.

The second attacker was younger and wearing a black jacket with the hood up, dark trousers and a black and white scarf across his face.
